UNIVERSAL AGGREGATES, LLC Universal Aggregates LLC was formed in January 2000 as a joint venture between CONSOL Energy, Inc. and SynAggs Inc. to commercialize a patented technology developed by CONSOL Energy that converts coal combustion by - products (fly ash, bottom ash, FBC and FGD material) from power plants into a lightweight construction aggregate. Universal Aggregates' first manufacturing facility broke ground in March 2003 in King George, Virginia.
