Sheet if you are making an oral presentation) must be received at the
CAER.
- Your registration form and fee must be received
at OISTL. (They must be received by April 2, 2007, to
take advantage of the lower registration fee.)
- Your Ash Library Permission form (optional).
To publish a paper in the Proceedings
Volume, an oral or poster presentation must be made. If a presentation
(oral or poster) is not made, the paper will be deleted from
the Proceedings Volume.
All presentations, provided they are made, are expected
to be represented by a paper in the Proceedings Volume. Papers may be supplemented
by Power Point slides.
If you are interested in submitting a Fuel Manuscript (in addition to and different from the WOCA Proceedings Paper) - read these directions.
Proceedings Volume Paper Guidelines (Oral & Poster Presentations)
Paper:
Submit Proceedings Paper (oral or poster) in Acrobat (.pdf) format
- Do not activate security.
- If Acrobat format is not an option, Word or WordPerfect may be submitted.
- Fill in the "document properties" information*
Paper Formatting Instructions:
- General
- Electronic copy (pdf - preferred) or (Word, WordPerfect) ONLY formats accepted
- Page size - Please choose a standard U. S. or European page size, such as letter (8.5" x 11"), legal (8.5" x 14") or A4 (210mm x 297 mm)
- Prefer 8.5" x 11" for page size
- WordPerfect: File / Page Setup / Size / Letter 8.5 x 11 inches
- Word: File / Page Setup / Paper Size / Letter 8.5 x 11 inches
- Margins - all margins on all pages 1 inch
- Font - Helvetica or Arial preferred
- Page numbers are fine, but not mandatory
- Justification - left justified (flush left) - no right or full justification
- Parts of Paper
- Title - 20 point bold
- Authors - 14 point bold
- list primary author first
- followed by other authors
- use superscript numbers to identify organization/address
- Organizations - 12 point; use appropriate superscript number followed
by name/address of organization
- Keywords - 12 point
- Body (text of paper) - 12 point
- do not use lines, bars, etc., which are generated using "fill"
- Since this is an international meeting, please use SI units (or in parentheses following English units)
- a reference site for SI units and nomenclature: http://physics.nist.gov/cuu/Units/
- a reference site providing conversions: http://www.sciencemadesimple.com/conversions.html
- use colors instead of textures/patterns for delineation (as within bars or columns)
- make sure "medium" is selected for the lines of the outside border of figures/graphs instead of "fine"
- no page limit
- Bibliography/References - 12 point

Improve the searchablity and ranking of your paper by filling in the Document Properties information
within your PDF Proceedings Paper.
- Acrobat (PDF):
- Open Paper within Acrobat program
- File / Document Properties
- Select the "Description" tab
- Place the title in the "Title Field" box
- Place ALL of the authors in the "Author Field" box
- Place keywords (minimum of 5) in the "Keyword Field" box
- Click "okay" button
- Save the file
- Word (DOC):
- Open Paper within Word program
- File / Properties
- Select the "Summary" tab
- Place the title in the "Title Field" box
- Place ALL of the authors in the "Author Field" box
- Place keywords (minimum of 5) in the "Keyword Field" box
- Click "ok" button
