The U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY'S OFFICE OF FOSSIL ENERGY (FE)
and
The NATIONAL ENERGY TECHNOLOGY LABORATORY (NETL)

DOE's Office of Fossil Energy (FE) has a mission to ensure that the United States can continue to rely on clean, affordable energy from our traditional fossil fuel resources. Fossil fuels supply 85% of the nation's energy, and FE is working on such priority projects as pollution-free coal plants, more productive oil and gas fields, and the continuing readiness of federal emergency oil stockpiles.

The National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), part of DOE's national laboratory system, is owned and operated by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). NETL supports DOE's mission to advance the national, economic, and energy security of the United States.
