Catherine Vial started as the Team Leader for Environmental Industries in January 2007. Her responsibilities include working with 15 industry analysts both in the environmental and the energy teams, and providing leadership and counsel on issues related to alternative energy and environmental technologies. She works closely with both industry representatives and U.S. and foreign government officials to advocate for U.S. industry on issues of domestic and international competitiveness. Ms. Vial has served in a variety of positions within the U.S. Department of Commerce. She graduated from the Georgetown University. She was born in France. She speaks French and understands Spanish and Italian. She lives in Washington, D.C.

Maria Parisi Vickers joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region 3's Office of Regional Counsel in 1989, where she litigated and negotiated complex Superfund and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) cases. From 1993 to 2004 Ms. Vickers managed the RCRA Programs in EPA's Mid-Atlantic Region and as Deputy Division Director for the Region's Waste and Chemicals Management Division was also responsible for Pesticides, Asbestos, and Toxics programs. In July 2004, Ms. Vickers was appointed to the Senior Executive Service as Deputy Director for the Office of Solid Waste, OSWER. Ms. Vickers has a J.D. from Temple University School of Law and is a member of the Bar of the U.S. Supreme Court.

John Roebel is senior vice president of engineering and technical services for Duke Energy. He leads engineering and technical services for Duke Energy’s U.S. Franchised Electric and Gas operating organization. He was named to his current position in April 2006. Most recently, Roebel served as vice president of generation resources for Cinergy’s commercial business unit. His responsibilities included the technical support of the electric generating plants owned and operated by Cinergy, including engineering, construction, safety, environmental compliance, project management, and new facility and environmental planning. He joined the commercial business unit in 1998.
